Who we are

Kurongeka is a service of Kapture, based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal information described here, under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. What we collect

Kurongeka Check: your name, business name, country, WhatsApp number, email if you give it, your answers, your score and how you prefer to be contacted.
Contact, call requests and directory applications: your name, email, phone if you give it, business name, your message, your preferred call time and the business details you ask us to list.
Client accounts: your name and email. Your password is passed securely to Wix to log you in; we do not store it. We also keep your launch brief and the progress of your project.
Website check: the web address you enter. Our server visits that page as a visitor would. Results are kept briefly in memory to avoid repeat visits, then discarded.
Name and domain check: the business name you enter, which we send to the public domain registries (Nominet, Verisign and Public Interest Registry) to ask if the addresses are free.
Brand colours and email signature tools: these run in your browser. What you type is not sent to us.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, to run the site and prevent abuse.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

To reply to you and recommend the right service: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
To run your account, prepare proposals and deliver services: to take steps towards, and perform, our contract.
To send guides and offers, only if you ticked the box: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To keep the site and tools secure and working: our legitimate interest.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

Who processes it for us

We use Wix as our customer, forms and member system, and Vercel to host this website. They process data on our behalf under data processing terms, and may store it outside the UK with safeguards the UK recognises, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

If you do not become a client, we keep your enquiry details for up to 24 months after our last contact, then delete them. Client records are kept for as long as UK tax and company law requires, usually six years. You can close your account at any time.

Cookies and storage

We use no advertising or analytics cookies. If you log in to a client account, we set these strictly necessary cookies, which do not need consent:

While you take the Kurongeka Check, your progress is saved in your browser session so you do not lose your answers. It is cleared when you finish or close the tab.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent to marketing, by emailing hello@thekapture.com. We reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to theInformation Commissioner's Office.
